Snowshoe hike with fondue
Hiking and fine dining: the perfect combination for enjoying winter in a different way!
After putting on our snowshoes and walking along peaceful snow-covered paths, we will take a well-deserved break to enjoy an authentic fondue prepared by us. Yes, in the middle of nature, with all the equipment taken out of the rucksack! And between bites, you can take the opportunity to admire the snow-covered landscape around us.
A day where culinary delights and fresh air come together for an unforgettable social occasion.

These hikes are partly part of the «les sentiers francophones» theme.
Why do we use an avalanche transceiver?
When snowshoeing, we travel on unsecured routes. Unlike ski slopes, snowshoe trails – even marked ones – are largely unprotected against avalanches. Marked routes are generally positioned in such a way as to minimise risk. Unmarked routes are rated (WT1-WT6) based on the terrain; avalanche rescue equipment is not required for the first level (WT1). Consequently, depending on the route and conditions on the day, it may or may not be necessary to carry avalanche rescue equipment. The basic emergency equipment consists of an avalanche transceiver, a probe and a shovel.
Rest assured: as a mountain leader, I select routes with the utmost care. I analyse the weather reports and avalanche bulletins every day to select the safest routes. Safety is my absolute priority.
The avalanche transceiver is therefore not a sign of imminent danger, but a precautionary measure that allows us to travel in snowy terrain. It’s like wearing a helmet when cycling.
