This ridge runs alongside Lake Brienz. We started the hike from Alp Lombach and climbed to the Augstmatthorn, the summit of this hike, from where we had a breathtaking view of Lake Brienz and the Hohgant. Finally, we headed back down along the ridge to the Harder Kulm. The final descent is by funicular.    <\/p>\n<p>A welcome surprise after the long hike: a dip in the Aare while waiting for the train.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s also possible to see ibex towards the Augstmatthorn, but unfortunately we didn&#8217;t see any this time; the weather was probably too hot!
